Day 1
Early October I went with my dad's parent to Park City Utah.
(Or as Samwise says, "To Mordor")
We met up with a few of my grandparents siblings there.
Heading out.
This was the first time I visited The Grotto.
We laughed at this little selfie.
Day 2
This was at our hotel in Ohio.
The place we stopped for dinner in Nebraska had this sign hanging up.
Day 3
On our way out.
Starting to see foothills.
This was in our hotel in Cheyenne, WY.
This carpet gave me the feeling I was at a pond.
To me it was very soothing.
My dinner was Prairie Oysters.
They taste like chicken gizzards.
They were very good.
Day 4
I hadn't noticed this the night before, but it gave me a good laugh.
Wyoming is known as the cowboy State.
Change in the terrain.
Working on the poles.
These decorations were at a truck stop.
Cute!
Getting into Utah.
My room at our condo.
Two beds for 1. Haha!
My view.
One of the family rooms.
this one was in the lowest level next to my room.
Very neat mirror.
Laundry room.
Gorgeous panting.
The game room was on the main level, also the middle of the three levels.
None of these books looked interesting. :(
Sadly this steam room didn't work.
The main family room.
Our kitchen and dinning area.
There were 5 bed rooms and 5 bathrooms in the building.
When we first arrived it was a lovely sight.
The view from the main family room.
The bottom level deck.
Both the bottom and main levels had a deck.
We did have a spa on the lower deck.
A few enjoyed the spa, I never made it into it.
The entry way.
An open loft looking down onto the main family room.
Leading to the garage.
The main door we didn't use.
Grandpa and I.
We walked a few houses from our condo along the road to get a good view.
I video called with Samwise.
Day 5
On our way to go hiking.
I was sandwiched between my grandma and my aunt.
We were a little outside of Park City.
My camera added this bar and ruin a very good photo.
Our little group.
I was the youngest.
Between all my great aunts, uncle, and grandparents. 😉😉
A hawk we scared up.
A little plank bridge.
Reading the map.
We lost a few of our crew as we past a few benches.
From the beginning of the week we arrived,
till when we left the trees had all turned they're fall colors.
The remaining three, grandpa, my aunt and myself
as we headed back towards the others.
As we walked back my grandpa and aunt used a stone to keep their muscles good.
We bumped into two mule deer.
My grandpa and I walked into the wooded area a bit.
I tried to take a picture but I found one laying down only a few feet in front of me.
But due to the lighting helping the deer blend in you can't see it in my picture. :(
The sky was very blue.
Heading back to the vans.
Day 6
We visited Antelope Island.
My personal favorite from the trip.
They had a few painted bison.
Bison tracks.
Can you see it?
In the top left of the picture is a spider.
Our first spotting of a bison.
I found this gorgeous.
While I was walking along I was keeping an eye out for snakes.
I jokingly told my grandma I wanted to get a photo of one.
I spotted this Praying Mantas.
I've always wanted to see on in person.
After 15/20 minutes of us checking this little guy out.
It got tired of us and started crawling away.
These little lizards were every where.
I spotted this beetle too.
Up close to Salt Lake.
Buffalo burger.
Plus a view of Salt Lake.
Do you see what I see?
They had a ranch on the island.
They had their little herd of horses.
At the historical ranch we met one of the volunteer workers.
He informed us that there actually isn't any poisonous snakes on the island.
He also told us how they discovered their herd of large horn sheep had caught a lung disease that never goes away. But painfully kills the animal over time.
So they had recently put down the herd and are planning to reintroduce a new herd to the island.
A few bison near the road.
Good bye Antelope Island.
Sunset at the condo.
Day 7
We toured a bit in Salt Lake.
This building that's now own by the mormon's used to be a hotel.
This room wasn't changed from it's days as a hotel.
This room is still the same except for the paintings along the wall.
The original disintegrated so they put different ones up.
Some of our group.
They said Bing Crosby once stayed there when it was a hotel.
And I insisted we visited the Cathedral.
Cathedral of the Madeleine
They had a little cactus garden.
Very friendly pigeon.
Waiting for the rest to catch up.
The pipe organ.
The chancel area is divided from the Blessed Sacrament chapel by a chancel screen. Inspired by the medieval rood screen, it was made of hand-carved North American white oak by British master carvers Agrell and Thorpe Ltd. It reflects the general character of the 1918 woodwork in the cathedral, particularly the St. Mary Magdalen shrine at the north end.
On our way back for the day.
A drawing I did on the drive to and from Salt Lake.
Day 8
A day in downtown Park City.
This bench was too cute not to take a picture.
Interesting store front.
We stopped at a pub and brewery.
It was very similar to The Vintage Brewery.
A cute little post office.
Our dinner we made back at the condo.
It was just as good if not better than our lunch at the brewery for lunch.
My art for the day.
Sunset.
Day 9
Up before the sunrise.
We left the condo and Park City before the sun rose.
At a stop in Wyoming.
Another stop.
There was a little snow.
Sunset.
Day 10
I didn't get any photos from day 10.
We drove from WY to NE.
Day 11
We stopped for breakfast at a nice little place in Iowa.
Although I didn't get any photos.
Wisconsin!
Home, sweet home.
And my kitten!
