August 2020

~August~

Baby Shower

We started the month of August with a baby shower for Brooke.

Vidalia made a diaper cake for the mother to be.

To cute!
I love how she topped it with a pacifier.

Adorable table centers!
Brooke and Greta put them together.
They ranged a variety of colors.
This green one was my favorite.

One of the games we played was gift bingo.
in each square you wrote down a gift that you guess the mother to be will open.
Sadly I didn't get a single bingo.
If there had been a blanket among the gifts I would have had 3 bingo!

We were all pleased grandma was able to join us for a while.

Hiking

I went hiking with Sam and his extended family.
Best part was getting away from the house after getting stuck there for a few weeks!

Sam's mother provided lunch for the two of us.
(Not the best of photos.)

I didn't get a lot off photos during the hike.
I didn't have any pockets to keep my phone on me.

Random photo.
I enjoy taking photos of my frog.

I received a few more shower gifts through out August.

Slowly bringing items that are not getting used at my parent house to Sam's.
Here I have my frame of the Mother Thrice Admirable picture,
that Sam's mother gifted to me last Christmas.

One of the kittens.

Birthday cake for a three year old!

And there she is!

Out at the airport.

Different night at the airport.
Beautiful sunset!

Within 5 minutes the pink glow turned a grey/blue.

Sam and I attended one of my cousins weddings.
He doesn't like me taking his photo.

Too cute not to share!
They had little hand sanitizer bottles that said,
 "In Sickness
   +
     In Health"

My aunt and cousin both have extreme decorating skills.

Just amazing.
Sadly I didn't take any more photos.
I wish I had gotten a few of their table centers.

Fishing

Sam and I went fishing for a while.

I was so tired I napped almost the entire time.

A few caterpillars Sam found at his place.

Attempted to get a few good pictures.

Another fishing outing.

There was quit a few of these birds flying around they flew within a few inches of me.

Cleaning for a conformation party.
We had a few boxes of produce and candy bars.
I found the situation unpleasant for the eye.
I put all the produce in a basket from my grandmother.
And the candies found a temporary home in a beautiful basket/tin Sam's mother gifted my mother.
of course it was a temporary place for the candy since it was all ate within a week.

A beautiful cake my grandmother made for my brother and cousin.
They share a small party after their conformation.

I got a photo of mom and Jess one Sunday morning.
Jess has gotten so big!
She hasn't started crawling yet but is close.

Sam took a photo of me.
I guess it's even. 😂
He doesn't like it when I take his photo and I don't like it when he takes mine.

We had a tornado warning.
Mom and dad had everyone spend an hour and a half down in the basement.

I enjoyed making a few handmade Rosaries.
My mom had us make a few, a couple years ago.
I used to be awful at making them.

Mom has taken a liking to the fruit pizzas I've made a few times.
So she asked me to make two for dinner.

We had quit the winds.
This tree was slightly uprooted.
Quit a few of the sunflowers were as well.

I was home Friday mostly by myself.
Decided to make deviled eggs for lunch.
They always almost look to stylish to eat.

Old photo of Custard.

Sadly my beautiful cat was hit on the highway my family lives near.
Although it happens a bit to my family's cats it is always sad to have one go. 😢

Hen Party

Gretchen threw a hen (Bachelorette) party for me my last weekend at home.
These are little doggy bags she had for the guest.
There was an assortment of candy, nail polish and lip stick in each bag.

She had a few guessing games.
We only did one.

I took the top off one of the uprooted sunflower stalks.
It made a lovely table center.

We had a small turn out but all enjoyed.
We had dinner.
Than played one of the guessing games.
After we did the say yes to the dress toilet paper game.
I teased Gretchen that it was old school.

My phone randomly takes and ruins photos.
here happens to be one.

We went out bowling at the bowling alley in Beaver Dam.
I bowled with Brooke, Greta, Lucy, and one of my cousins.
Brooke although she is expecting the end of September, out bowled the 4 of us.

I found this cute Gretchen tied tags on all the nail polishes in the goody bags,
"Nailed IT!"

Quit a few had to head home while we were still bowling.
It was a late night, our bowling session ended around 9:30PM.
We were lucky, the last half hour we bowled they turned the black lights on.
A few were able to stop back in at my parents house and we handed out a few prizes.
Greta and my cousin stayed and watched a movie with us.
I headed to bed around 11:30.
I'm told Greta headed home around midnight.
My cousin stayed the night with us.

My last Sunday at home.
I found use of the felt board Gretchen bought.

It seems every Sunday before church dad watches a DIY video on YouTube.
